An 18-year-old Ararat man has had an expensive trip to Warrnambool to buy a motorbike.

Police were called to the Levy's Beach car park about 1.30pm on Saturday after reports that a number of people were on motorbikes driving erratically, spraying dirt and debris on horse riders and walkers.
Police attended and located an 18-year-old Ararat man leaving Levy's Beach with a PeeWee 110cc on the back of a ute.
He told police he had purchased the bike for $2200 at 11am that day, along with a helmet and goggles.
Police impounded his motorbike and the young man will be summonsed to appear at the Warrnambool Magistrates Court charged with unlicensed riding at a later date.
He is also expected to receive a fine of $1817 for failing to comply with the chief health officer's lockdown regulations relating to there being only five reasons to leave home.
Those reasons are to shop for essentials, authorised work, health care, to get a vaccination or to exercise.
The Ararat young man will also have to pay $1100 in 30 days to have his motorbike returned from the impound yard.
All up it was a very expensive trip to Warrnambool.
