The Clubbers were set 101 for victory in the second innings to win the B Grade competition.
The Clubbers won the toss and sent Navarre in to bat and Phil Hall and Lachlan Slorach did not waste the opportunity, getting the Grasshoppers off to a good start.
The pair put on 37 runs before Slorach fell to Koby Stewart for 18.
That triggered a mini collapse for Navarre with a further two wickets falling with only one run added to the score to give the Clubbers a sniff.
Aaron and Bradley Slorach combined to get Navarre back on course with another 37-run partnership.
That was the end of the resistance, with the tail failing to wag, as Navarre were bowled out for 101.
Cam Kimber was the best of the Youth Club bowlers, finishing with four wickets.
The Clubbers’ top order looked ominous early with Ethan Marrow and Stewart getting their team off to a strong start in the run chase.
Youth Club were 2-75 before Navarre were able to slow the scoring down with some wickets.
Bailey Taylor’s wicket was the start of a purple patch for the Grasshoppers with three wickets falling for two runs.
Jarrod Illig was run out for 29 with Phil Hall claiming the last two wickets to end the innings with the Clubbers taking a 54-run lead into the second innings.
Navarre got off to a shaky start in the second innings with Hall dismissed for one.
Lachlan Slorach was the shining light for the Grasshoppers, taking after the bowlers and putting the pressure back on Youth Club.
He was dismissed by Clinton Slorach for 44 to leave his team in trouble at 4-73.
Bradley Slorach top-scored for the innings with 77, while John Costello was the only batsman to reach double figures.
The Grasshoppers frustrated the Clubbers at times during the innings but was eventually dismissed for 154 from 66.4 overs which left Youth Club a target of 101 for victory.
The Clubbers’ run chase hit a hurdle when Angus Barham was dismissed for one after facing eight balls off the bowling of Bradley Slorach.
Koby Stewart followed shortly after when he was caught off the bowling of Lachlan Slorach for two to leave the Clubbers at 2-8.
The Clubbers tried to avoid risks by going at one and a half runs per over in the first ten.
Illig and Taylor were the next two batsmen to lose their wicket with Bradley Slorach causing the Clubbers some trouble.
It leaves the Youth Club in a precarious position with only six wickets in hand while still needing 60 runs for victory.
